Our projects in Benin

In Benin, the agroforestry and reforestation projects led by Up2green and its partner ECODEC are continuing successfully, from the north to the south of the country! 🌿

🎯 In 2024, nearly 50,000 trees were planted — 28,000 in the North (Tanguiéta and Cobly) and nearly 20,000 in the South, in the Hlanzoun swamp forest.

The overall survival rate has reached 88%, a remarkable result given the increasingly challenging climatic conditions and the security context in the North.

These programmes help to:
🌾 restore degraded ecosystems and strengthen soil resilience,
💧 preserve natural resources and local biodiversity,

👩🏾‍🌾 support rural communities, particularly women, notably through the shea sector, which sustainably improves their income and promotes children’s schooling.

🚀 Building on these results, Up2green and ECODEC expanded the scope of the project in 2025, with an ambitious new target: 75,000 trees planted across the country.

🙏 A huge thank you to the ECODEC Benin teams, the local communities and all our partners involved in bringing these sustainable impact projects to life.
